Sydney, Ahoy!
Beautiful weather, great food, awesome friends (and new friends) and a lot of booze. Add a yacht and Sydney sceneries, a bit of water, that'll make a perfect day.
Fore some people, including myself - we added beer and watermelon on a park and some football (soccer for you americans). Came home and took a nice hot bath and hit the bed. What a day....

Hurricane Grill, Bondi Beach
My office buddy Keiron organising a great meaty night out in Hurricane Grill, 130 Roscoe Road, Bondi Beach. It may be the first time a marketing guy telling the truth about a product as it was really awesome! And it did come in the "right" portion for meat lovers. So there was I sitting with good friends enjoying the food and beer. It was very crowded, people were queueing to get tables, and it was Wednesday! Good think we had our table reserved. This is definitely a recommendation, and you may see me popping in once in a while.... Well done, or should I say "Rare"?

Shanghai: It's a Big Pajama Party
This was taken from Reuters. Should've introduced them to "Victoria Secret"....
SHANGHAI (Reuters) - People wearing pajamas in public, still a common sight in Shanghai, is one of the most irritating aspects of life in China's biggest city, according to an opinion poll of residents.
The survey found that pajama-wearing on the streets and in public places such as shops, banks and parks is among the most uncivilized things in the city, along with aggressive pets, unhelpful neighbors and disregard for the natural environment,
Over 16 percent of respondents said they or family members often donned pajamas in public, and 25 percent reported they sometimes did, Yang Xiong, a professor who helped conduct the poll, said Wednesday.
The survey was sponsored by the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences and the Shanghai Women's Federation.
Theories differ over why the practice of wearing pajamas -- baggy cotton outfits which are often printed with flowers or small animals -- is so widespread in China's richest and most cosmopolitan city.
Some believe residents are showing off their social status by underlining how close to the city center they live, while others say it is a holdover from life many decades ago in small, self-contained communities.

Ok Go - Here It Goes Again
Very creative choreography from Ok Go, a Swedish band. They gained popularity from internet populations and their songs (and videos) are available in iTunes Music Store. It is amazing that how new ways of self promoting methods came out. Their website is also very cool http://okgo.net/ - I like the game there as well.

Good Bye My Little Friends.....
Couple of months ago - a couple of pigeons decided to settle down in my balcony. They placed a nest and lived there. They lived their own live and never got into my place eventhough I kept my windows open. We were just happy neighbours. They laid a couple of cute eggs and last Monday baby birds started chirping. That was an awesome experience for me. For almost a week, I always heard chirping and purring in my balcony every morning.
Friday morning, I woke up and found the couple in my living room and flying around wildly. I was a little bit angry because they had violate my property. I shooed them away, closed the windows and went to work. When I went back from work, I saw the couple standing outside and "kind of" staring at me. I ignored them because I was still feel violated by that morning incident. And I did not notice the chirping....
This morning I was doing my laundry and cleaning, and I still saw the birds standing outside and staring at me. I went out and to my surprise, I saw the baby birds were lying cold. My anger dissapeared and what I could do is to tell them how sorry I was and started cleaning the nest and the dead babies. The couple gave me a nod (or I thought they were) and walked off and flew away.
I would like to say to the baby birds that their life was not a waste. You had given me a slight happiness and that really means a lot to me. To the couple, life sometimes does not go as you would like it to be, but you have to keep on moving on and hope for the best. Good luck. Good bye my little friends....

Queen
Queen is my favourite band. It has a looney and gay characters - thanks to Freddie - as well as intelligent and grande elements build into their songs. Queen had crossed different genres, combined them, mix them, experimented with them. Some people like it, some don't. But they had done it. Queen - you are made in heaven. |

Braun Buffel in The Flesh
My folks and I were on vacation in Philip Island, Victoria back in May 2005. We went to a farm for country lunch and this furry thing crossed the street with full ignorance on our way back. We had to stop our car for a couple of minutes until it finally on the other side. This thing is huge. Good thing I had chicken for the lunch. I would not want to mess up with this giant.

Newtown Festival 2005
This was the biggest Newtown Festival I've ever been. Since I left Australia years ago, the festival was never this big. I heard the festival attracted around 200,000 people - which maybe made Newtown sunk a little bit. It was a good fun - music, food, bazaar. I am all those.
Can't wait for this year's festival. Really looking forward to that.
Ol' Shanghai Alley
We were amazed to see street sellers making wonton, noodles, and old shops selling things that we thought already extinct. But what caught our eyes when we passed this alley that has beautiful symmetry. And no, we did not take a piss in the alley.
Hootersmobile
I actually parked behind this not-too-new BMW 316ti with customized plate "LEGZ" - too bad the reflection made it barely visible.
PS: This Hooters is the most diversed Hooters I've ever been. But they need to put more effort to survive the business.

Broken Vending Machine
The vending machine in my office floor somehow always refuses to spit out products made by Coca Cola. I always pick Pepsi Max instead, but some people still insist on Coca Cola. So I put a note to avoid disappointment, and it seemed the maintenance guy could not find what was wrong with the machine. He left his comment in my note instead and ask us to call him everytime the problem occurs - he also left some Coca Cola cans and coins.
FYI, the vending machine still has the same problem. But I did not bother to put the notes anymore. We just keep on calling him.
